VW emissions scandal: SKS goes to the Swiss Federal Court

Dr Alexander Amann and Schwärzler Attorneys at Law have developed a lawsuit with the SKS (Foundation for Consumer Protection, Switzerland) in order to be able to assert claims of affected vehicle owners regarding the VW emissions scandal in Switzerland.

At the end of 2017, the extensive action for damages of the approximately 6,000 injured parties was filed with the Commercial Court in Zurich. In December 2019, the Commercial Court in Zurich dismissed the action for damages because the SKS lacked the capacity to raise the claim damages.

However, Dr Alexander Amann and the SKS (Stiftung Konsumentenschutz Schweiz – Swiss Consumer Protection Foundation) are not satisfied with the decision of the Zurich Commercial Court of December 2019 to dismiss the case and are now taking the matter to the Federal Supreme Court.
