What is percent for art? On the one hand it is the obligation, especially that of the government when it commissions building work, to use a certain proportion of the construction costs of public buildings to fund and install public art. But when private organizations make the effort to tweak their construction projects to use them as a canvas for public art, it is really about the understanding and appreciation of art.
That’s how the construction of the new headquarters of Schwärzler Attorneys at Law became a project that connects work and art. Images by Vorarlberg artist Marco Spitzar and lyrical text fragments play equally important roles. They create a symbiosis and address – among other things – the world of work and the patron’s appreciation of art.
